Los Angeles Period
(1950-1980)
The Los Angeles period represents the artist’s most expansive and diverse phase, during which he freely explored multiple styles, subjects, and media. All major series — including Abstract Expressionist, Freeway, California Seascape, Marina, Architectural, Portrait, Nude, Latin American, Landscape, and Industrial — fall within this period.
This era showcases the artist’s extraordinary technical versatility: from portraiture and nudes to cityscapes, landscapes, and abstraction; from oils and watercolors to drawing and mixed media. His rare mastery of the palette knife technique is a hallmark of this period, demonstrating precision, control, and expressive power that few painters achieve. Simultaneously, he continued to experiment with transparent inks, impasto, and drip techniques, reflecting both emotional engagement and technical innovation.
